Orleans --- the band that Rolling Stone magazine labeled "the best unrecorded band in America!" in 1972. ('cause they kicked ass live!)

By 2002, John Hall, Larry Hoppen and Lance Hoppen had already been in the business of making music for more than a quarter of a century.  The music of Orleans read like some of the world's finest and most beloved songs ... like the title of this collection --- Still The One: LIVE! - 30th Anniversary Retrospective.

For this unique anthology CD, the band went into their three-decade-long archives and found some of the rarest takes of live material ... unreleased tracks all. Obviously, you get Still The One, taken from the now almost legendary Bearsville Theatre show in 1990, near the band's birthplace of Woodstock, New York. But that's just the icing on the cake!

The seventies are truly represented with songs both previously released and unreleased ... tunes captured in clubs from Boston, Connecticut and New York (the band's early stomping grounds). With hard to find classics like Trenchtown Rock, You've Given Me Something and Waking & Dreaming, this collection soars!

Add to that several cuts from the mid-80s Nashville era ... Lady Liberty. Circles, Fly Away (taken from a TV show shot at The Cannery).

And just to top it off, the guys thought best to include the gorgeous (but hard to find) studio recording of the Christmas song New Star Shining. This Hall & Hall-penned ballad was first cut by none other than James Taylor and RIcky Skaggs ... but this Orleans rendition is every bit as good (if not better :-)!

Still The One - Live is a fascinating look at one of America's finest bands --- Orleans. Comes with a 12-page booklet complete with many of these pictures and MORE, plus track-by-track liner notes from the guys themselves. With 13 unreleased and 4 bonus tracks, you get a nice overview of their mastery of the live performance medium --- through some of their coolest but most obscure songs ... and some really nice surprises, too! Enjoy!
